THE OPEN UNIVERSITY OF TANZANIA Directorate of Communications and Marketing 20th Anniversary of the Open University of Tanzania The Open University of Tanzania (OUT) is this year marking its 20th anniversary since it was founded after the enactment of the Open University of Tanzania Act No. 17 of 1992 although its operations officially started in 1993. The climax of the 20th Anniversary of the Open University of Tanzania has been planned to take place in October, 2012. The climax will be characterized by a number of activities including; • Public Lectures • Exhibitions • Launch of centres, • Unveiling of publications • Media activities • Sports and games • Essay Competitions • Award and prize presentations Every member of the Open University of Tanzania at both the headquarters and regional centres is required to participate fully in the preparations and the festivities during the climax.
